I have had a Ruger All weather 77/22 mag for a couple of years and changed scopes a few times. It has had a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42 on it . The scope is great and the power range is great. It also has a side parrallax adjustment for close shots !

But it is very long and do to the mounting it looks funny on the gun. The scope sticks out way past the front mount. The parrallax adjustment gets kind of irretating if you don't have plenty of time to adjust. Between the big power range and parrallax adj................it just seems like a lot going on for a mostly  small game gun.

So I just got a Zeiss Conquest back from my Dad . It's a 2.5-8x32. I put it on the gun and it looks way better , fits better, but it does not have the parrallax adj. or the power range. Just seems to fit better and less to deal with. Zeiss used to advertise it as being for the "serious" rimfire shooter.

Which one would you guys use ??? Just curious since have both to choose from.

I like the zeiss for the 22.  Save the bushnell for something needing more magnification.  Better yet you pick one and send the other one to me.Big GrinBig Grin  Sounds like a nice problem to have.

Here is a novel idea how about both --- just pick up two sets of quick detachable rings and when you want to hunt it use the low power scope then when you want to target shoot it use the high power scope.  The reason a low power scope doesnt have parallax adjustment on it is that a low power's field of view of what is in clear focus front to back has more depth of field than higher powers.
