Does anyone know if any manufacturers are going to start producing 6.5 creedmoor rifles in the near future? The only rifles that I found on the market currently DPMS and Ruger. I know its a new cartridge.  I from the ballistics and articles I read I think 6.5 would  be and excellent cartridge. Just 2 choices in rifles isnt much of one. I would like to see a few more. Maybe Savage or Winchester, and of course a bunch more ARs.

I thought I read that savage was doing something in 6.5, I'll have to check their web site out.

6.5x.284 in the long range hunter, sweet looking rifle, which i think is part of the reason why you arent seeing it released by a bunch of other companies. think about it, there has never been a 6.5mm that has done outstandingly well in the United States. yeah the 6.5x55 did ok, but other than that 6.5's dont do so well. the .264 had a nice run until the 7mm mag came out and as far as success goes with the rest of the 6.5's most of the people buying them are target shooters. the wild cating community, certainly gives the 6.5s a lot of effort. its to bad that the 6.5's just dont click with our countries shooters.

The cooper is very nice, I looked it up. Its a little expensive and is a single shot. Right now Im just doing research. I originally was lookn in to just gettn a quality 223 upper  for my AR. Then I thought about looking into just getting an completely new sub moa AR. Then I  thought about grendel and such. Now Im researching the creedmoor. I know its a new cartridge I was just hoping some a good variety of quality rifles will come out. Seems like a quality cartidge. High b.c. not high enough velocity to eat out the barrel. Highly accurate though, with good power. reasonable recoil. Seems like an overall good round for coyotes up to even maybe small elk. With reasonable priced factory ammo. Ive not personally shot it but from my current research whats not to like.

Speaking of 6.5's... Remington website no longer lists any models in 260 Rem. That's too bad.

Since Savage redid there website you can search by specific criteria. They list on 260 but when you search for one, says there are not any 260 calibers.

I know it is an old thread, but it looks like Savage has a short action version of Long Range Hunter now and it is available both in 260Rem and 6.5Creedmoor.

As a 6.5 fan I hope to see more 6.5 Creedmoor rifles out there because when that happens Winchester & Remington and possibly Lapua will start making brass.

The 6.5 Creedmoor ballistics should be good.

My experience with little rounds such as the .260, 7mm-08, and .308 Win is that they are not that much slower than bigger rounds but give better barrel life & less blast & recoil.

There are lots of good 6.5 bullets for every purpose.
