Other than IOR, Nightforce, Leupold, Swarvoski, US Optics, and SS what can I use? In my section we use both Swarvoski and Leupold but they leave a bit to be desired although they match the weapons quite well that also leave something to be desired in the way of accuracy. What can I say? The weapons systems do everything that they were designed to do and can stop a victor like Ambien does insomnia. I'm just wanting something else. I'm looking to buy a state arms rebel and have really been looking at nightforce for my optic. I require a variable scope with a minimum of 6x on the lowest setting, around 20x on the highest with 1/4min turrets and some type of milling reticle. Any advice on a really tough scope to get? Oh, and glass quality is a high priority. Pretty sure of what I'm going to get but I would like to hear some other opinions based off of other peoples experiences as well.

Well the ones you missed are Schmidt Bender, and Heinsoldt (Euro Zeiss Tac) Which brings me back to why not a U.S. Optics?

US optics is great and makes a great optic. I'm also considering them since they allow me the option of a larger main body tube. My only issue is buying an optic that costs more than the weapon. I'll consider them as I do like and use some of their products. All that I'm really looking for is what has worked for others. I know that I won't be buying a piece of crap any way that I go about this. Who's optic gathers the most light? That's what I'd like to know and am soliciting opinions.

I own Nightforce and USO and would highly recommend both.

Two negatives on Nightforce: when you change the power, the entire ocular rotates - so your Butler Creek button relocates.  Also, the illuminated reticle intensity has to be adjusted with a jewelers screwdriver and is very (VERY sensitive.)

Other than that, the optics are great, it is very durable, repeatability and tracking are fantastic, reticle is better than anything not custom (and costing $800 just for the reticle), and the price is right.

USO requires an odd zeroing, but the one-turn ERK elevation knob is great, the glass is great, the durability is great, and the tracking is great.  The real value of USO comes from the almost unlimited customization - and that is nice!  But it costs.

Now, for a .50BMG, I'd buy the USOptics SN3 or SN9.  If you don't have $3,000 to spend, buy the Nightforce for half the price and be happy that your scope is better than anything most other companies make (excluding Zeiss, S&B, and USO, obviously.)

I own both, I like both, Nightforce is the better value, USO is the better scope.

Equality is something you whine about not being given.

I would have to agree with RC on the above but if you want a complete custom scope go USO to ge exactly what you want.
