Wanted to info on different makers of the 50BMG rifle. Of course there is Barrett and I have shoot those and even owned one for a while.  Would like to find first hand experience knowledge and info.  Considering getting back to the BMG family every now and then and just curious what you guys can tell me.

I was looking at the state arms big bertha, even put an order in for it and was quoted at 6 months for delivery due to being backed up. Well after 7 months and Zero contact with state arms, after i had sent emails and numerous phone calls and voice mails, i went out and got my AR50. Low and behold 6 months after that i got a lonley email saying sorry about the delay and asking if i was still interested in the rifle.  I dont doubt that they are nice guns but in my opinion i belive when someone is willing to spend $3000+ for a rifle the company no matter how large or small would value that customer, it should not take over a year to contact anyone. It was they're poor business ethics that turned me away from state arms, call me crazy but i like a company who cares about customer satisfaction.

When i called and talked to them they told me anywhere from 6months to a year. I asked how to place and order and they said i would have to put down more than half of the cost up front which i wasn't comfortable doing being i would be out the money for most likely over a year when i could be drawing interest on it.  They wouldn't hold a CC like some either so I decided to look at other 50's and then just kinda lost interest b/c of the cost of shooting one and the availiblity of places to shoot.

30-06 $2.00+/round...
50BMG AP $2.39/ round... sometimes much less, sometimes a little more.  Always a THRILL in a day in the life...

I think i'm still gonna wait til I move home in a year and build my range up..... I am would want to be able to stretch that gun out and 600yds isn't enough for it. IMO.  I do not doubt I will have one one day just how soon I get it and how high it is on the list of "gets"

When i put in my order it was a $300.00 deposit. I can belive now they are asking for half the rifle cost now! As far as cost of shooting goes im getting the remaufactured ammo for $2.50 a round and unfired ammo for $3 a round. So it really isnt costing me an arm or a leg to shoot.
