Does anyone make a 4x scope like this one but in 4x.

I am building a precision AR and would love a fixed 4x with adjustable turrets and a mil dot type reticle

Or this:

It's under their hunting scopes but can do everything the "tactical" can do.  Optically, it is a great scope, a little heavy, very sturdy, good adjustments.  I have one on a 45/70 and it works great.

If you are comfortable with a simple reticle like the #4, I would highly recommend the 4x32 IOR that RC is talking about.  It is a great little scope.

The tactical 4x24 is also very nice, but keep in mind that the reticle is not centered in that one like it is in the 4x32 and 6x42.

I already have one of the 4x tactical's, great little scope.  But I am looking for one with 1/4 MOA or mil resettable adjustments.  I will probably go with the IOR 6x (little more mag than I want but for my uses it should be okay) or maybe fork out for the 2.5-10x.  I just don't really need that much mag so it is kind of a waste.

I played with the SN12 a while back.  It is a nice scope, but not cheap.  For that money, I would probably go for a low range variable from IOR or NIghtforce.

Wow, that one looks almost perfect.  Except for the 1 MOA clicks on the elevation.  It doesn't appear they give an option on that scope for anything else.

I am mostly going to shoot 75 gr or maybe some 68 gr match bullets out of this gun.  It seems all the scopes I can find that have BDC are calibrated for 55 or 62 gr bullets.  So that is my reasoning for the scope with 1/4 MOA or 1/10 mil adjustments.  If an ACOG was calibrated for an 18" barrel and 75 grain bullet I would be completely satisfied with one of those.

I have an IOR 2.5-10x FFP on a ruger .22 that I could use, but they are just so big for an AR.  That little USO is almost perfect, I may have to seriously consider that one.

I guess I could always go with a Leupold MK4 MRT in 1.5-5 and have the custom shop set up BDC knobs for my loads.  I am just not to enthused about Leupold glass.

you didn't give the barrel length, but in any event the ballistic curve for 308 is almost identical for 75 grs. and a bdc for 308 will work

the leo will work for heavier bullets just set it 1.5 to 2 inch high at 100 yds.

18" 1-7" White Oak barrel.  Thanks Dale, I didn't realize .308 and 75 gr were that close.  At 500 yards they are within .5 MOA.

the leo spr reticle has 2.5 moa markings which makes it good with any caliber, but I use the bdc m2 turret for 60 gr amax, loaded hot, which is pretty close even in the shorter barrel
RRA wilson air gauged, wylde chamber-- going to 69 gr if needed for range but usually just use a 24 inch ar if that is necessary

Just remembered: IOR will soon have a 2-12x32 model with a BDC for 308 (or at least that is what I was told).

Ya I've heard that about the 1.5-8x as well.  Which would be perfect for my setup.  Maybe I will just stick my 2.5-10x on there once I get it built and see what happens with those.

I'm assuming your talking about the M-series scopes. If so, how do you like the "floating reticle?"

When it's zeroed, does the reticle sit in the center of the scopes view? Or is it off to either side?

I'm new in the optics department and have been eyeing the IOR M2 for my AR. Any help/comments/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
