BigDaddy refinished the stocks for me while I was in Iraq.  He did a fantastic job, better than I deserve.  The stocks were pretty rough when I got it, lots of dings and rubs, the recoil pad was TERRIBLE, glue all over the end of the stock.  Brandon fixed it all, at least as good as new.
It is now ALMOST too pretty to hunt with, but I owe to Brandon to use it.  He put a lot of time and effort into this and I can't just let it sit.  Needless to say, I am HAPPY with it...

I am removing carpet upstairs and installing wood, then finishing all this spring when we can leave the windows open for days at a time.  I invite anyone who has experience with a belt hardwood floor sander or application of about 2000 sqft of polyurethane to assist...

What a lovely rifle I just love the Ruger #1 rifles I had one for a while in 30-06.  Makes me wish you could get an ejector on a Encore barrel they only come with extractors.

Brandon is a true craftsman.  He changed it from an "average" rifle to an exceptional rifle.  You just can't imagine how bad the condition was of the stock with all that glue and stuff stuck to it from the recoil pad installation.  Worst job I've ever seen.  Brandon got rid of all the damage and brought out the grain so it just "pops"... Ruger has always used really good wood on their # 1's, but sometimes the finishing is not the best.  Now, the beauty of the wood is highly visible.

Your gun came out great!
I have a #1 in 45-70 and it is sweet. I can load some pretty hot stuff because of that action. But, I sure would like to check one out in either of the .458's.

I'll bring mine too. I want to use the 1.1-4x24 Kahles CSX I have on it at night. The illuminated C-Dot should be the ticket.

Very nice... I have developed a "thing" for the Ruger #1's.  I may start collecting them in every caliber I like... extremely accurate, functional, and contrary to some beliefs, pretty easy to "second shot"... When I spend a little time working the loading, I can shoot 3 rounds nearly as fast as someone with a bolt rifle.  Have to be "in practice" though.  It is an acquired skill, not easy to develop.  Ammo intensive...
