Have any of you out there noticed that after charging your 4200 with the firefly reticle, that it is barely visible any longer?  I know Bushnell's advertisement states that the reticle turns green after charging which is true but it fades away soon thereafter.  I was told by someone from Bushnell that the reticle stays green for a short period because if you looked through the scope all the time with the reticle lit up green that it could damage your eyes!  Huh?

I think the person that told you that should find a new crack dealer. I have 6 4200's, three of which have FireFly's. After the initial charge, the reticle will settle and remain charged for about 30-45 minutes. This, of course, is after you charge with a good flashlight, like a Surefire for at least a minute, two is best. I will charge the reticle about 30 minutes before dusk (dark 30). In daylight a charged reticle will appear black, the way it was designed to function. If you cover the objective lense after charging you will see that the reticle is still cookin. Maybe the Bushnell rep. was warming you up for a sunglass sale.
