I have bought 3 of the 3-9x40 4200 scopes and finally installed the last one on my Model 70 300 wby. Some have questioned the eye relief of these and I'm here to tell you I have had no problems of any kind with these scopes. It has never even come close to bumping me even on 9 power off the bench. All three are on guns shooting 3/4 " groups or less and track really well. Also they are really clear and adjust easily. The 300 wby shoots a 180 grain bullet at over 3250 fps and I have been bit by several other scopes on it, but not the 4200! If you are wanting a great scope at a good price, this is the one for you!

Thanx for the info.

Be advised, there are 2 types of heavy-recoil shooters:
1.  Those have been bitten by their scope.
2.  Those who will be bitten by their scope.

It only takes that one time of pulling up an off-hand shot and not pulling it tight enough.  I've been shooting for over 20 years and just got my first "scope-bite" last hunting season, not a bleeder, just a kiss, but the West Point grad I was hunting with thought it was very funny.  His time is coming!

I had a 340 Wby and a hamburgered forehead from it so I know full well how to get bit. The 4200 does have a rubber bumper on it also that should help if you do get hit! Most of my scope cuts came from bench shooting.

I've seen guys get hit when shooting uphill in a prone position with rifles that had never hit them previously.
Thanks for the info, Sandracer.  I'm a big fan of 4200's, also.

The 3-9 4200 is fine on the guns I've used it on. The .300 Wby is not bad enough to warrant concern.
