I had just decided on getting this model and i went on Bushnell's site and couldn't find it. I called them and they said that "It isnt made anymore, but was available in the 3200." This blows! Should I get the 3200 or 4x16x40 in 4200? What are the major differences in quality in the 3200 vs the 4200?

The 4200 is a better scope than the 3200.

Warranty is not a problem. Bushnell still does warranty work on Bausch & Lomb products. I used the repair dept. once and it was quick for turnaround.

I heard a rumor that they are being discontinued.

BUT

They have not been out that long!!!

AND

They have NEVER been on the Bushnell web site!!!!

AND

I bought one yesterday and I do not know of any other scope that has the $ to performance value of this scope.

I am VERY happy with it.

In a word SUPERB.

Me thinks someone is a sleep at the marketing wheel in Overland Park. The 3-9 was only out about a year or so. I heard that they introduced it to be competitive in the higher end 3-9 market and because the 2.5-10 sales were not up to expectation.

The 3-9 4200 has to be one of the best buys in a top quality scope..........good choice.

What Roy said.

Even if the product is discontinued the warranty will still be good as long as Bushnell is in business.

These 3-9 4200's still tend to be unknown. We have quite a few in inventory. People just don't know about them.

I have 5 of the Bushnell 3-9x40 4200's mounted on various rifles.

I'm very impressed/happy with the scope for $259.

I looked at the 2.5-10x40 4200 and just could not see the $100 to $150 difference. Can anyone explain why this scope is priced so much higher than the 3-9x40 4200?

I also compared these to the new Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 and sent the two Nikons back to SWFA and exchanged them for two 4200 3-9x40.

Oddly, I happy with the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on my rimfires and thought I'd love Nikon Monarchs too..................

TNX,

Gary

NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!!   Son of a......

That's saying a lot, Gary. I agree, the 3-9x 4200 is a good scope, for sure.
