Just ordered on of the 77 Alaskans for a customer.  He does not reload and wanted me to get him some ammo too.  Which of these would you pick?

HORN 8231 375 RUG 270 SP 20/10
HORN 8233 375 RUG 300 SP 20/10
HORN 82333 375 RUG 300 DGX 20/10
HORN 8232 375 RUG 300 FMJRN 20/10

He hunts Alaska, just returned with a brown bear and plans to go back and will also be taking it to Africa.

...........................Great choice in a rifle,, that .375 Ruger Alaskan!!Big%20Grin..Whistling...Whistling........For big bears and African plains game, the 270 Horn SP..... For the dangerous African game, the 300 FMJ, DGX are fine....From the Alaskan`s 20" tube, tell him to expect about 2650 to 2700 fps MV with the 270 gr. Hornady factory loadings and about 2550 to 2600 fps or so from the 300 grainers.........Tell him that "Squeezer" approves of his rifle choice!!!...........Laugh

Nice!  H-4350 is an "Extreme" powder, which means it is less sensitive to temperature variations than other powders.  This makes it a particularly good choice for African hunting.

................Cold weather Alaskan type hunting too!!!...........Got that load off of "gunblast.com" "archive section" (type "375 Ruger") in the search box. The article/test by Jeff Quinn pops right up. He tested the African not my Alaskan.
