For some reason i am intrigued by this cartridge. My question is this: why don't the major gun producers put this baby out in one of their rifles? A model 77, 70, or 700 would be SWEET in this round. Also, what is the parent cartridge to this round or is it its own design?   Thanks, Bricat.

In one sentence 338 WM.  Norma made reamers available to the gun trade for next to nothing. Schutz and Larsen made rifles but few others. When the 338 WM came its fortunes fell. It is really a great cartridge one of the first short (30-06 lenght) magnum rounds. Look at the ballistics, still a great round but not that many bullets available as the 338's.
