What's your budget? What is your use? If it were mine it would be low light, short to mid range heavy timber type hunting. For that there is a 1.5-6x42 Zeiss Diavari or a Trijicon 3-9x40 Accupoint on the sample list that I would be looking at. Without knowing what you plan to use it for and a budget it's kinda hard to make a recomendation.
We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

Hi , My budget is up to $1200 ..35 Whelen are very rare here in the UK, I will be Hunting Deer mostly in woodland areas ..range up to 150yds

Look at the Meopta R1 in 1.5-6x.
