I have savage 110BA .338 Lapua Mag. I am over whelmed with all the options in high-end scopes on the market and would love some help picking a long range scope. My goal is 1000+ yds. But other than that I am open to any brand. Can anyone give me a starting point or maybe what they’re using for this kind of distance? |

The SWFA SS 5-20x, Vortex Razor, 5-20x, a Nightforce 5.5-22x. Any of those three would be a good fit IMO. The SWFA is the best bang for the buck. I am not sure the other two have anything on it.

There are great options for a long range gun, a little guidance on budget would help.
As said above, the 5-20SS is a great scope and would fit your needs well. It has plenty of elevation and good glass. The Nightforce is also a great option, and has great reticle choices. For long range, I like less magnification and really good glass; though others definitely have a case for "lesser glass, more magnification", it comes down to personal preference. If you have budget, you simply cannot go wrong with Hensoldt 6-24, but it is big money. The Hensoldt 4-16 doesn't have as much elevation as I would lie, but Hensoldt glass is top tier and ease of sight picture is something you will not believe till you see it. Then again, every time you squeeze the trigger, it's $5, so "big money" is relative.

If you are up for the big bucks you should also take a look at the S&B line [Zenith for hunting & police for tactical/benchrest]
