Looking to purchase a 338 have seen some Tikka's and Rugers but nothing really pops out to me.. Does anyone know of a tack driving 338 with a wood or laminate stock that wont break the bank? Much appreciated

Check the guns for sale section... 300 ultramag has a 338 WinMag for sale, Browning Stalker, very reasonable price.

If I was in the market for a 338, I would get 300 Ultramag's A Bolt.  He has it listed for a better than fair price.

I've only messed with one.  It was on a M70 Classic SS in .30-06.  It did what they say it should but it is loud.  The guy it belonged to only forgot to put on his hearing protection once.  Bucky

It can be screwed off and an optional one with no holes put on.

A win mag but I was browsing through some stuff and found that bad beast... Got me thinking... After the 308 is done a 338 is next depending on if I can get 300 UltraMags 338 or not the Savage Lapua might just have to work haha

Im not worried about the price of ammo but if I get a less expensive gun early in the year then I can get a more expensive one later in the year... Haha keeps everyone happy and off my back this way..

I have a Tikka T3 Hunter in perfect condition in .338 Win. Mag.   It has a really beautiful wood stock with a blued barrel.  I've been kicking around the idea of selling it since I never shoot it.  It's had about 50 rounds through it, but it looks showroom new.  It sits in my gun safe and never sees the light of day.

It currently has a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40 Firefly on it with Burris flip-up lens covers.  I have all of the boxes and manuals for everything.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested.  It's a beautiful gun.

ive got a browning abolt with the boss, mine is a.300win mag. i took the boss off and ordered a boss CR adapter
http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/accessories/detail.asp?value=028J&cat_id=114&type_id=001

my .300 doesnt kick much either way, and i shoot full house hand loads out of it. that .338 will have more push to it of course. i would buy that .338 from 300 if he's still got it though. every browning abolt ive ever dealt with shot a house of fire out of the box. ive dealt with them from 25-06 to .300win all shot excellent.

Only Browning A-Bolt I been around was a friend's 26" bbl'd A-bolt Medallion in 7mm Remington Magnum.  He didn't reload so used only 175gr Remington factory ammo.  Accurate enough!  Beautiful but HEAVY.

the rugger m77 hawkeye guarantees moa accuracy out of the box and is chambered in 338, weatherby vanguard S2 and tikka t3 guarantee sub-moa accuracy out of the box and both are chambered in 338... and all can be had brand new for around 600$.

the only .338 ive ever shot was a m700 ss, it was loaded with rl22 and 225gr bullets, it wasnt much worse than my .300win mag was with the 180gr stuff i normally use, and the rifles were similar in weight, the m700 only had a 24" tube though. my browning of course was a 26" tube.
my wifes uncle has one in a m70 with the boss on it, i know he put the boss cr on his too. that thing flat dumps whitetail's
