i bet it does. I really like the blued metal with a lighter (but not too light) stock. but at the same time, I buy a gun to use it, not show it off. I would hate to ding that one up.

that is it, and i would use it. but i would still hate to ding it, just like i would hate to put a dent in a new truck. you do what you have to do, and if it gets dinged so be it.

Beautiful looking rifle. I love the look of blued metal and nicely figured walnut.

.........................I did look on Kimber`s web site and I guess the 338 RCM is only available in the base model! Hey! That`s fine too!...............Since I have my 300 WSM, I really have no need for a 338 and whatever the 300 WSM couldn`t handle (highly unlikely in N/A), my 375 will........Later on, there will be one more caliber on my agenda. Probably the 25-06 as a good balance to fill in the smaller end of things! OOOPS! No compacts in the 25-06`s. Minimum barrel lengths of 22"..I`ll just live with it!.............A 25-06, a 300 WSM and the 375 Ruger will cover everything!!!...............BTW. If Kimber is chambering the RCM`s, what does that tell you? Along with Ruger and Kimber others will certainly follow. Competitors also have the dies and the ammo is available and plentiful (at least where I am) for the RCM`s............

I really don't see why Ruger chose the 300/338 rcm, we already have those from winchester and remington. I would have loved to see a .25 rcm, something winchester should have done with the wsm, instead of making it a wssm. I'd also like to see ruger develop a .416 off of the 375 ruger case.

they already have a .416 off the .375, its called the .416 jrs jon sundra developed it and its comparable to the .416 rem mag, i agree with you on the rest of the stuff you said, especially about the .25cal stuff

I did read some stuff that sundra did his own 416 off of the 375 ruger, but has ruger itself done made this a physical cartridge?

Do you thing they will, I'd be interested, I've considered a .400 plus caliber.

.............That`s very simple. I do!!......The 300/338 RCM`s were developed to compete with the WSM market. The shorter actions (WSM`s RCM`s), allow for more compact, lighter and shorter barreled rifles, without compromising that much and in some cases without compromising anything ballistically!......It`s a well known fact that the shorter and fatter cases are very efficient and are great performers in the shorter barrels. That`s why the RCM Rugers have 20" tubes. That`s why my 16.5" barreled 300 WSM Frontier exceeds the ballistics of a 24" 30-06! That`s why the 20" barreled .375 Ruger can equal the ballistics of a 24" or 25" 375 H&H.................Along with buying a cartridge, you buy the rifle too! In some cases, if shorter and lighter can accomplish the same things as the longer and heavier?......Then why not??............I`ll predict right now that these RCM`s in the future, will be a great success with their popluarity!......What better promoters than Hornady and Ruger!
