What exactly does the term "short Action" imply? I noticed Bushnell offers the 3200 in a 3x10sa. The scope is almost an inch shorter than the standard 3x10. Does a short scope have any drawbacks? I was thinking of putting it on a TC Pro Hunter .270. Would a single shot qualify as a short action? I want a Bushnell and have been looking at the 4200 3x9 but am not wild about the 3.3" eye relief. The 320sa eye relief is 3.7". I am not sure if I am way off base here or that would be a good choice. I would appreciate your input or reassurance that 3.3" on the 4200 would be ok for a past victim of scope eye.

.............A shorter action simply means an action with a shorter magazine length, that accomodate cartridges with less overall length.

Shorter action cartridges are for example; the 270, 7mm, and 300 WSM`s as compared to their longer counterparts like the 270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag and the 300 Win Mag.

Also implies that there is less of a distance between the two scope rings because the action length is shorter.

You can mount either a short action, more compact scope on a single shot or mount a larger scope. What matters more, is your personal scope preference.

In reality, you don`t have any action length to worry about. Just make sure you pick a scope with enough mounting tube length, in order to adjust the scope backwards or forwards enough for the proper eye relief.
