So i accidentally sized one of my 30-06 brass in my 270 die while reloading .270. How did it get in the 270 pile, who knows. Is the brass junk now or can i fix it by sizing it in my 30-06 die. Or should i put it in the 270 and see if i can make it work, haha.

hat casing is pretty stressed.  Play it straight and trash it!

If you trim it, it will work in your 270. But if you own both guns, I would trash it so there are no mix ups.

I've necked down many 30-06 cases to fit my 270. I've never had a problem with doing this. You won't have to trim the cases because the 270 neck is quite a bit longer.

Thats a lot of movement of brass.  I would think annealing would be a must.  I would not try and go back to 30-06 with that case.  Either anneal it and leave it a 270 or trash itr.

+1.  Since you have both, you have the risk of mix up due to the head stamp.  I'd pitch it look for a quarter in a parking lot to make up the difference.  Chances of catastrophic failure are low, but is it worth it?

if you had a .280rem die you could size it, then run it through your ought 6 fl die and it would probably be fine. on the other hand, i cannot see any  reason to take the time or chances with a single case. i would trash it too.

I'll definetly trash it. I can afford to buy more.

Went to the range today working in a .270 load. I checked every head stamp to see how far my brass mixup went. Apparently i caught my mix-up at the press. Thanks for the advice.

What are you loading?
I've loaded Sierra gamekings until a yr ago. Switched to Berger 140's. I'm very pleased with the switch. The gameking's were great but my BAR and custom Rem 700 (both 270) like the Berger noticably better. And they are very impressive in dropping deer at 500+.
BAR, 130gr Berger w/IMR4350 49.9gr. Rem 700, 140gr Berger w/ IMR4350 *I.m relunctant to share the charger wt. because its on the hot side. I built the rifle especially for hot loads and would NOT load this round for a typical rifle. I am diligant to mark the loads for the Rem so they don't find their way to the BAR.
Welcome to the OT!
