300 WSM  who's using it and how do you like it ? Are you hand loading for it and what loads have you had best success with.  What rifle are you working with and how do you like it.

I really like mine!!! The only bullets I have shot enough to judge yet are 178gr. AMAX's. The only powder I have used so far is IMR 4350, and CCI #250. The rifle is a Savage model 11 with a detachable mag.

I am now trying some 150gr SPBT Speer and 150gr. Sierra Pro-Hunters and some 180gr.Speer Magtips that a buddy gave to me when he switched to all copper bullets for his .308.

I have a Winchester Model 70 Sporter III in 300 WSM. Got it new mid 2006. One of the last of New Haven's. I was afraid there might be some problems with the last ones put together. No such luck, it's sweet.

I took a lot of time with the barrel on the front end. Don't know if I needed to or not. First 20 shots went down the tube without a scope into the side of a hill over a 2-3 month time frame with cleaning and all between shots. Sure didn't hurt anything at all. Sweet.

Cartridge wise, I really feel it will be around a long time. I haven't got around to reloading for it yet. I haven't found a factory load yet that doesn't shoot well through it. Knock on wood.

Hope you find what your looking for.

My only complaint with my set-up is the stock. I been looking at replacements, but just haven't come up with the funds yet.

300 wsm is good. Load it down to a hot 30-06 or up to just under a 300 win. Shooting alot of 190 and 175 smk moly, 1400 rds later no cleaning--started with h4350, but reloading manuals show lots of choices. -- and they say chrome lined barrels aren'r accurate.

Would a Tikka seem like too light of a rifle in 300 WSM I may go buy one because I know they are accurate but its rather a light profile compared to most of the rifles I shoot. I dont see many rifles in Iowa chambered in 300 WSM but it looks like it would be a dandy choice to reload and play with.  I've shot some 168 Molly AMAX in a .308 with good results but anything molly coated is hard to find here too I havent seen molly bullets since I last saw Fed GM primers that about a year and a  half.

I have a light profile 300 magnum, and like it very much......although it's not much of a bench gun. I bought a heavier bench gun, and the ultralight gets relegated to hunting duty.

the wsm i had was in a browning aboltII composite, the gun weighed 6 lbs, and with the scope and that it was still only about 7.5lbs, it let you know when you touched it off. i found a limbsaver recoil pad helped a lot. if i would have had a lead sled 5 years ago i never would have gotten rid of it.

Excellent I think that is a fine choice.
