Welcome aboard. Of the scopes your looking at, the Conquest would be my pick. The 4200 would be my second choice only because the eye relief is a little shorter.

Of your above 3 choices, the best scope for the money is going to be the Elite 4200! The Elite`s glass will exceed the VX1 Leupold and the Buckmaster.......The Zeiss on the other hand will be a fraction brighter than the 4200, but the 4200 gives nothing up to the Conquest as far as clarity, crispness or resolution!.......Like you, I too have a 300 WSM and not exactly with light recoil. The Zeiss shows a little more eye relief than the 4200, however I`ve never been whacked. Not even close! I shoot a compact lightweight...........The 4200 3x9 is $259 on this site. When comparing the Zeiss and the Elite 4200 and if you can justify the additional 35% cost for the Zeiss, then buy the Zeiss!! I couldn`t justify it. That is why I have the Elite! Also, according to many, the 4200 compares in every way to the VX111, with some of the opinion of being even better!...............IMO, and as a former Loopy owner, the 4200 gives the best dollar to benefit ratio of any scope on the market. At the $259 price level, when you include its Rainguard, no other scope will equal the 4200!!!

Hey thanks guys.Hey Big. A Zeiss for 399 im my neck of the woods is a great thing. But I see your point.I have read your other post on this fourm about the 4200 that is why I added the 4200 to my list.

Check the sample list for the Zeiss, you save a few $$ and you still get the full warranty.  Also, if you ever want to upgrade to a target turret, Zeiss will do it for $50.  I did this on 2 Conquest scopes, putting rifle-specific bullet drop compensators on each.

4200 is good, Zeiss is better, and the price demonstrates this.
