I am looking at the super sniper series of scopes and would like to know what maginfication would best fit a 300 Win mag. I will only be shooting 600 yards or so on average. It will be going on a Savage 110FP rifle.

I was thinking of going with at 10x because I will be using it hunting a little as well.

Thanks for you time.

I'd recommend variable for hunting and targets out to 600 yards.

SS is a great scope, but fixed 10X limits the hunting opportunities.

What's your budget?

Anything that says SWAT extreme and tactical in the same sentence you better take with a grain of salt

Thanks for the info so far guys. Keep it comming. I am new to long distance shooting and this is my first rifle for this type of shooting. I have a rem 7400 that I mainly use for hunting but I would like to use this new 110fp 300 WM rifle for hunting as well. I am a south paw so I am wondering if anyone out there make a 1 peice base for a left handed rifle or if I am doomed to use a 2 peice base setup. What are your reccomendations?

Thanks.

I have two of the Millett TRS-1 , I much prefer over anything Barska makes.  The latest generation is better than the first generation TRS-1 , Millett customer service has been excellent I had a problem with a first generation one, sent it in and got a new one in a week a 4th generation one.

I had to try Barska, I put one on a light 30-06 it lasted 19 rounds, when I got the replacement back I sold it.  I have my 4 gen TRS-1 on a benchrest 7.62 , it will go out to 1000 yards , the scope has about 100 moa of vertical adjustment. If you are going out farther the Millett LRS-1 has 140 moa of adjustment. They are not a Zeiss or swaro but you are only paying about a tenth as much.

He needs 50 posts to be able to do that.

Please don't spam the forum with this, bush. It's in bad taste and against forum rules.

Is there a genuine need for the "tactical" features of the Millett or the SS?

My only personal experience with Millett has been their DMS and I like it for what it is (a 1-4X scope for $200) but do not like it for what it isn't - great glass at a great price (it ain't those.)

In your price range and for the expressed purposes, Millett wouldn't be a bad choice. Bushnell 4200 is also an option, but will cost a little more than the $400 you listed.

If you don't need tactical, there are a few more options.

I guess I dont neccesarily need a tactical scope. I would like the scope to have a 30mm tube and be able to holds its zero on a 300 WM. I would also like it to be able to shoot out to 600 or so yards reliably. A 1 inch tube would be ok depending on the scope. It has to have mil dots.

Thanks keep the info comming.

Any more suggestions on rings and bases for a Savage 110FP 300 WM.

I was just surfing riflescopes.com and came across this rifle scope. What do you guys think?

It meet all of my requirements exept it is a 1in tube insted of a 30 mm tube. Will this make a huge difference? How is he glass and warranty with his company?

New Leatherwood 4-16x50 Uni-Dial Rifle Scope

I have no experence with Leatherwood scopes, but if you use the search function on the forum , there are many post on them. Most of the post are not favorable.

I have a 300WM set up for medium-range hunting (target<800 yards) and use a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50.)  I shoot handloads and have a BDC on the scope that is dead-nutz - at least out to 600 yards.  The 1--inch tube doesn't take much from the scope.

I have never used the Leatherwood but a search will turn up some.  I would say avoid it and stick with something more mainstream and proven to work in hunting scenarios.

My advice would be this:

Beyond those, you'll need to spend more than your budgeted amount. Neither has great elevation adjustment range, but both will get you to 600 yards with a 300WM.

Also, ask around for experience with Vortex and Falcon scopes, both are around your pricerange and some have said good things (I have no experience with either.)
