I bought a Zeiss with a 50mm objective, on Leupold MED. rings its about 2-3mm off the top of the barrel. Is that safe? Secondly I love the cheek weld that height gives me so to keep from going higher does anyone produce lens covers that screw in flush and level? Thirdly has anyone named their rifles? Colorful as always -ClutterMonkey

1. Yes

2. Leupold makes lens covers that screw in flush to their newer VX-III scopes. I don't think any other scope manufacturer or Butler Creek offer any covers like this yet.

3. I have not named any of my rifles, but I am sure there are some people who have.

Some Tasco Japan scopes came with screw on lens covers.  Now you can get them for current production Leupold scopes as mentioned.

Check out these two SWFA $20,000.00 Photo Contest Entries from Iraq and the names of their guns.
