I don't see anything about a back order on these in particular.
But I saw others talk about other 2-7 reticles being back ordered.
Does SWFA show back orders?
Your best bet is to call first thing in the morning and ask.  If you order it you will get a backorder email sent fairly quickly if its on backorder but the site is not real time or have a backorder indicator.

What height rings (Burris Xtreme Tactical) would you think would work best with this scope?
It would be mounted on a picatinny rail.
.5" or .75"?

I want to keep it low, it'll be atop a AK platform rifle, Saiga.308-ver.21.

again the best thing is to ask SWFA in the AM when you call they have the numbers you'll need to know what to order height wise.

Scott, Sorry to go off on a "tangent" it was really a poor attempt to be allagorical. I like the idea of Vortex and while I don't have any of your products yet The ones I have handled have been impressive in their price range.
I see vortex as offering a good product and trying to build a reputation as having great CS. A earlier poster had made a comment about Black & Decker changing suppiers and maybe that was what was ocurring here. My point was if you want to build a reputation as a long standing supplier of quality products that last a lifetime then B&D is probably not the business model you want to follow. B&D make decent hand tools in their market range but to be truthful over the past 20 years they have gone to producing throw aways. I have a few of their tools as I don't use them often and it's not a disaster if one gives it up after a few years of service so I buy them because they are cheaper and probably will meet my needs. I consider Bushnell in the same way in scopes. They have some nice products and I have a couple that I have had for years. However I know in my heart if they ever give it up then they are pretty much done or if they are replaced I would expect my scopechiefs which were the top pf the line in their day to be replaced with a scopechief which today is a so-so product. See the thread Bummed on Bushnell to see what I'm talking about. It's a shame they squander their reputation like they do when the elite scope they offer are pretty decent stuff.
Vortex has some nice stuff, I would urge you to keep your base product line pretty much intact and work on improving value thru better internal components and small incremental improvements. I think long term this will serve you better to establish your company as a long term player. I know a lot of people on this forum like to bash Leupold but this describes why many of us have stuck with them. Well that and the fact that we grew up looking at Jack Slacks custom rifles festooned across the pages of the gun rags of course all of them wearing Leupolds. One of the great marketing campaigns of all time imho. Good luck and I wish Vortex well. Just put a gloss finish on a few of the basic models would you.

I will second that.

are you kidding me, gloss is for womens lipsBig Grin

well lets do the math

3x9x40        40/6=6.667

2x7x32         32/6=5.333

they would be close, probably close enough you wouldnt notice a lot of difference in light transmission.
ive got a 2x7 viper on my .375H&H and i really like it.

Okeydokey, in-stock or outta stock, I think I'm going to go ahead and order the 2-7 BDC.
Use the savings over the 3-9 on rings.

"are you kidding me, gloss is for womens lips".

And for people with purty rifles.

I know I'm an old fart, addicted to nice walnut and deep blued steel. I am coming around a bit though, I would consider a matte for my stevens 200. It would hardly be noticeable along side the ugly plastic stock. ;^)

The 2-7 with BDC is on back order, at least they were a couple of days ago when I ordered mine.  They sent me an email the next day after I ordered, saying they were out of stock.  Hopefully they'll be in fairly soon.  Worth waiting for from what I hear.

Yep back ordered...  I called CS and they said next shipment is due next week.
Said, 10 2-7 BDCs were ordered and six, mine included, are spoken for.
So with luck, our 2-7 BDCs, should ship next week.

Thanks for that update, ChileRelleno!  Much appreciated.  Mine will be going on a Model 70 Featherweight in .257 Roberts that I got a month or so back.  With some Burris Signature rings, it should be a great match.  I was going to use my new Trijicon 3-9 on it, but decided to save that for another project that I'm slowwwwly accumulating parts for.

ive got a beautiful m700 cdl in a .264win mag and the last thing in the world i would want is some shiny scope to take away from it. i would long before consider a silver scope before gloss. besides it scares off the animals, and the zombies will know right where you are when the sun is shining.Wink

VERY good looking rifle!  Those CDLs are a class act, and that one has some pretty nice wood in that stock.

I am going to get one with C3 reticle, I think.

I much prefer that to the BDC.

I am considering a regular plex but everyone who has the C3 seems to like it. How thin are the inner circle lines. What exactly is this reticle made for or good for. I have no need for holdover reticles I do mostly short range woods hunting. It just seems like in low light you would have nothing that you could see to aim with.
