I recently start reloading for my kimber montana in 260 rem., I'm using once fired remington brass and 140gr. corelok bullets seated to 2.787.  I'm also full length resizing using a lee die. the problem i'm haveing is that after relaoding to these specs the bolt won't close.  For kicks I reloaded unfired remington brass to the same specs and low and behold no problems, do I have a faulty set of dies

The same thing happened to me reloading my 300 WSM! I use RCBS dies!........Try screwing in your full size die in about another 1/4 turn AFTER it touches the shell holder when your handle is on the down stroke. I did that and it solved my problem!

I tried number of things, including trying to resize the shell "deeper", but it crushed the shoulder.

Coat the once fired case in dyekumblue and chamber it without the bullet.  Then start looking for marks.

That's a good suggestion.

Jeff, did you check the case OAL and trim if needed?  The brass may have grown in length and resizing won't change the case mouth.  Did you chamfer the mouth both inside and out?  It's possible you may have burrs that are causing your neck to be too tight.

Let us know once you get it figured out.  I'm always interested in finding out the cause of reloading problems.  The couple times I've had that problem was once I didn't FL resize the case enough.  The other time my crimping process distorted the bullet or case enough to not let the round chamber.  Good luck, though.

could be
web dimension of kimber is non-standard
shoulder angle of die or chamber is different
length from case base to shoulder angle of kimber is shorter, ,or die longer.
sometimes presses have "slop" in the last part of the arm through. seat the FL die down past the "throw" of the arm so the case is being sized before the press arm bottoms out.

For some reason I believe it is crimping problem, but I'm still going through the trial & error process.

Turned out to be a crimping problem, but it only occurs using the 140gr rem pspcl and not on hornady 129gr interlocks? Oh well.

I'm not anymore, at least with this bullet combination, you don't crimp?

The only thing I crimp is my 44 rem mag.  I"ve only been reloading for a short period of time, and I had a similar problem as you until somebody told me that I didn't need to crimp most cartridges.

If you must crimp for say a semi-auto you might try a taper crimp die or Lee's collet crimp die. These dies don't buldge the case neck when you crimp and don't need a cannalure in the bullit.
I give a slight taper crimp to my 223s because they go through gas guns.
