I like to get some reports on the new Monarch 2.5 x10 x42

How do you like it?

How good is the eye relief?

I have not looked through a new monarch, but the 2.5-10 monarch gold is one of the best scopes I own.

I have two of these new scopes from nikon. They are nice scopes but its not a big upgrade from the older monarch.Glass, coatings and reticle are unchanged.Biggest difference between old and new is the eye box design{which is very nice and the best feature of the new monarch] .Turrets are high profile and i prefer the the lower version of  the old style. The power ring is smaller but works pretty smooth.Over all  new look is very nice.My question to nikon  is these -If your going thru the trouble of upgrading a  scope why not improve  the optical quality also ,whether glass or coatings.

The eye relief will be 4" fixed.

A great value and damned good scope.

How is possible for the eye relief to remain constant through the power range?

Is your complimnet based on ownership of this particular model or reputation?

Please explain what the "most important feature" is?  Is eye box the same as eye relief?

I own a new 4-16x Monarch with a BDC reticle.
Just got back from shooting under it about an hour ago.....Sharp%20Shooter

Yep, 4" fixed eye relief through the entire power range.
Not sure HOW they do it, but the Zeiss Conquest has a fixed 4" eye relief too. Others as well. Nice feature.

I think the Monarchs glass has always been better than average.
They made a good scope better and are trying to compete more with the Conquest for less money.
