Boy do I love my Wbys. and their accuracy.  I bought this 240 Wby. magnum a couple of years ago, used on www.gunbroker.com for 700 dollars in a synthetic stock with reloading dies, tons of brass and a variety of bullets.  I mounted a Japanese made Nikko Stirling scope, 6x24 and shot it and found it to be very accurate.  However, I replaced the stock with a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock and free floated the barrel.  Hand loaded Winchester brass with Hornady SPBT 100 grain bullets with 53 grains of H4831 powder and it is shooting 0.5 inch groups a 100 yards.  Targets are below.  Every Wby. I own shoots sub moa, but when I tune them up just a tad, they all will shoot like this.  But, not all respond to free floating.  I free floated a 300 Wby. and it was a disaster.  I ended up putting a pressure point at the barrel tip and it is shooting 1 inch groups.  I bought a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock, replacing a synthetic stock.  I spent alot of time removing material from the barrel channel.  I placed an order from www.stockeystocks.com and have a proper sized stock for a #2 contour barrel that will not free float the barrel, which both Wby. and Bell and Carlson recommended.  Should arrive in a few days and will make the switch out and try shooting it this weekend.  By the way, that is a 4 shot group at 100 yards measuring slightly over 0.5 inches.  The other bullet hole was from sighting in at 50 yards.

I also enjoy the weatherbys, and I think that the .240 is a great round, too bad  it isn't more popular.

Actually, tahqua, I cannot write a post worth a darn sometimes to make any sense.  Sorry for the confusion.  The 240 is in a new stock and free floated.  I took a 300 wby. and rechanneled the forend  of a Bell and Carlson stock so as to free float it and it was a disaster.  It through fliers constantly.  I finally put a pressure point on the tip of the barrel and it started shooting one inch groups.  I called B and C and Wby. and both stated not to free float that particular Mark V.  At the time B and C did not have a stock to fit a number 2 contour barrel as it would coming from the factory, without free floating.  Now they do and I ordered one and it came in today.  I am going to put it on this weekend and see if it groups better.  It will essentially be the same as the Mark V Ultra Light, but with a #2 contour barrel.  Will let you know how it shoots.
