Came across this 22LR ammo test and thought I would pass it along.

Would love to hear your thoughts about the test.

Whoa! heck of a good find Sparky - THX for posting that up.

I think it is a good test - with very valid results - I used the Eley ammo many years ago in my 144 LSB Mossberg - which is cranky about ammo and a fellow shooter recommended it.

Definitely shows which to use for accuracy and for just plain old plinking.

Interesting to see some ammo one would think is junk actually did pretty dang good.

we use 22s to shoot out creeks/timber when we hunt coyotes with the hounds... to get them running.  I use a Ruger MK II handgun and the only ammo it likes is the Rem Golden Bullet.  Jams with everything else I've tried.  I go thru a few 1000 rounds in a good year.  I sure wish I could get it for the price SVT got when he did his test!  silly stuff is over $20 a box now.  I used to get it for $12 not that long ago.

The only problem with these tests are they are as rifle specific as barrels are unique...

This one just includes a greater number of choices.

I agree. But I believe this gives one a place to start.

Problem as already stated is variables and variations.

One variation not considered here is LOT variation.

I have shot near exclusively for 1 summer Lapua Same type Midas Gold and X-ACT and LOT numbers varied significantly in MV.

I have noticed this with Subsonic ammo from LOT to LOT as well.

The deviation of Ammo from round to round can be significant as well if shooting the bulk ammo so much as 300fps.

How many have had one go super sonic in Sub or Sub when shooting super sonic????

Sometimes you can feel the difference as well

It's easy to tell in a semi-auto when an oddball goes off.  Some just seem to be primer and othjers double loads.  Luckily I nad a Browning take down so its easy to check for a clear barrel after a dud goes pop!

OH MY GOD THEY USED AN EVIL ASSAULT RIFLE TO TEST THE AMMO Cool Well it must be an assault rifle it has a thingy on the barrel and a evil looking pistol griip.  Never mind the fact that it is probably a single shot target .22 that weighs around 20 lbs.
Bleiker .22LR Rifle
