I have some 75gr HPBT i'm looking to play around with. I have not been able to find a load anywhere for this weight bullets. I'm wanting to use ether H1000, H4831sc,or Varget. what do you thing would be a good starting point?

I'm thinking 28 to 30gr of varget would be a good one but not 100% sure yet.

well bd my nosler manual has a few loads for a 77gr bullet here is what it lists

h4831sc- 34gr-38gr

my 2nd ed lee manual hays everything for you but in 70gr bullet not 75gr, so i suppose you would have to reduce these loads some.
varget- 29.5gr-32gr
h4831 35gr-38gr
h1000 36gr-38gr
hope that helps

Hey Meeester Big

What kind of twist do you have in that 22-250 that will shoot a 69 or 75 gr bullet?  Mine won't stabilize anything over 60 gr and doesn't like the 53 gr long bearing surface TSX's.  It is a 1 in 14 and I wish it were more like a 1 in 9 or so.  Roll Eyes

This is a 20 shot group it 55gr v maxs. This load hit left a little compaired to the normal load of 69 gr smk's. Under the dot was a 69gr 20 shot group. as you can see i pulled a few. It is a 200 yard group. I didn't think it was to bad.
