Hi guys,

I've got a .308 with a Zeiss Conquest HD 5x25x50 scope mounted. It's one of these Rapid Z set-ups with the hold over reticles.
After asking some questions here I finally understood how to use the ballistic software required to get the best out of these hold over reticles - but I have one more question.

I have zeroed the rifle for 200 metres at 15 power magnification. The field of view is pretty small at 15 power, but this isn't an issue in open country. However, in close bush hunting situations this simply wouldn't work.

Question: Am I am able to simply 'wind down' the magnification to say - 5 power - and still be roughly 'on target' up to 200 metres?
Would it have a discernible difference on POI due to this magnification change?

All help appreciated

Cheers

David

As long as you are using the center of the reticle, your zero POI should not change with magnification.  But none of your data you set up on the rapid z will work if you created your data on 15x.  You will need to get the data again on 5x.
