I have two questions for you guys.

First, Does anybody know if Leica has or developing alumium flip up lens caps? (similiar to Leupolds, Swarovskis, Butler Creek)

Second,  Are the Leupold dual dovetail strong enough for a 300 RUM? (hopefully holding a 3.5-14x42 Leica)

Thanks in advance

Yes, the DD Leupy's are strong enough. However, I concur with the Talley's above. Even the regular base and vertically split rings would suffice nicely. They have been my "go to" choice for several years.

BTW, I have no idea on the flip up covers you were asking about. I'd contact Leica and pose that question to them directly. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses

Good to know about Leupold DD's. I can't see cheaptricks pic but I'm imagining it.

I emailed Leica about flip up lens caps....When they respond, I will pass that info on to you guys.

No, they don't and they're not (at least as of today).

Yes, they are very strong mounts and are definitely up to the task.

Nice scope, I'd love to have one!
