I have decided to get a CZ 452 Americian in 17 HM2.  Primary use will be squirrels and other small vermen ranging from 20 to 100 yrds.  I am looking for something not over 40 mm objective and in the $250 price range.

I am thinking about a Burris 3-9x40 Fullfield II Rifle Scope with Ballistic Plex

Bought one for my sons 17HMR, not wild about the thick crosshairs  but do like the ballistic plex feature.

All suggestions are welcomed.

Talleys are always a good choice for mounts.

The Burris FF is a good scope. I have been using them and find the optics to be pretty good for the price. They are reliable and look good on a rifle.

I don't use ballistic reticles on hunting rifles, hopefully someone will chime in that has.

Good luck, that is a nice gun and a great flat shooting rimfire for little critters.

,

I have been reading here for a yr or so. this will be my first opinion handed out here.

I wouldn't spend that kind of money for a scope to put on a glorified .22. for less than half that you can scope it and probably be just as happy and have money to buy a couple hundred rnds.

Thanks for the reply Cheap.  Am I going to be able to use the LOW (22CZRL) Talley rings with a Burris FFII 3-9x40 on a CZ 452 Americian??

odawgp, welcome to OpticsTalk.  I think there are many of us SNOOPERS around. I am honored you chose to break your silence on my post.

Also Like you, I had a low opnion about my optics, but I have evolved, as will you, if you hang around here much longer

FYI, the Talley low rings (22czrl), on a CZ 452 American, with a Burris FFII 3x9-40 do not offer enough clearance for the bolt to open.   There is plenty of clearance for the objective but not the bolt.

I've tried and will order the High tomorrow.
