I behaved a bit better than last Christmas at the in laws and bought only two weapons...one a Christensen Arms BA Tactical in 338 Lapua.

My wants are between 1,000 and 1,500....best glass I can get with ffp and mil/mil. Open on range and some other features...debating dropping down to a sightron SIII even as closer to 750 but pretty bare bones.

Right now leaning toward Weaver 6-30x56 as I like the super slam series products from them but want to hear suggestions.

Use is targets mostly on farm.
That thing on the left....my old ride, some days I miss her.

I was just about to post that… I've not been a big Leupold fan, nad occasion to use one of these on a Barrett M107.  I actually liked it.

Not the biggest mark 4 fan but have only had a bit of exposure to them a while ago. Considered a Nightforce SHV F1 but eye relief is under 3"....not sure how this will recook as it's pretty light and I don't want to look like the people I make fun of.

At 1,150 having a hard time not giving the weaver a try. SS is back ordered and I hate knowing I missed the sale prices.

Anything else I am missing? Any experience with this weaver would be appreciated.

Burris XTR II 4-20x50 is another option. Or wait for the SS.

Burris is one I looked at a lot...might circle back to it. To sum up here are current thoughts:

Leupold mk 4 ffp with tmr
Weaver tactical 6-30x56 with IMDR
Burris xtr ii any
Throw in US optics fixed 10 just cause
SS

Took out nightforce shv f1 due to eye relief. Of ones above...best overall pick or suggestion?

I have the burris 2-10x and i like it a lot. That ought to be a good fit.

Bushnell DMR, DMRII, the hunter version  LRHS. the actual glass is not top tier but the mechanics are top notch and  the g2dmr reticle is awesome.
Im not a bushny fan but this is a well put together scope, very popular is PRS

As often as you will want to shoot $5 bills out of it you might want to just put a fixed 16x on it. I have a rifle set up that way.

Hoping under 2 dollar bills per round but haven't done the math. Picked up 20 rounds of Norma for 60 bucks mainly for the brass and have 30 rounds of lowly S and B in the safe already. Grabbed some retumbo and large mag primers...just dies and bullets left. Looks like around 30-40 per 50 bullets when I was in store so almost a buck right there.

Picked up the rifle today...in hiding from wife in the trunk until I can sneak it down. It's cold here in Iowa anyways...warms up a bit next week.
