So I've decided for my AR I'm going to stick with a compact optic.  If I need to go further out and target shooting I have other rifles setup for that.

So I'm looking for a great value and something I can trust and not be sending back for warrenty work.  Of the following, which do you think is the best option for quality?  If the Vortex is the best below $500 I don't mind spending the dough.. but if the say Falcon is on par, I would be happy about saving the $250.  It's just for a fun gun but if the stuff ever hits the fan I want something reliable.

Most of my shooting will be at 100yds - 200yds but will streatch out to 600 possibly ..

Here is my research so far:
Optic Power Tube Weight Length Reticle Price
Burris Fullfield TAC30 1-4x24 30mm 17 10.25 Ill BDC CQ 330
Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 30mm 16 9.7 Ill TMCQ 500
IOR .223 30mm 1-4x24 30mm 12 8.25 Ill TMCQ 520
Leatherwood CMR 30mm 1-4x24

Either wait for the SWFA SS 1-4x or go with the Trijicon accupoint 1-4x.  That Trijicon is a very fine scope for an AR.

Also that IOR you have listed is a fixed 4x not a 1-4x.  I have one of them  Decent scope, but not like the Trjicon.

Trijicon, or wait for the SS 1-4.

I am in the same boat, and am waiting for the SS1-4.

It is that good!

The Vortex isn't available yet and neither is the SS, the FF Tac30 would be the choice to go with, their glass is very clear. Then when the SS comes out get it also, if you don't have another rifle for both get another rifle.

+1. I tried out a TAC30 and really liked it. Very good glass on center, a little less on the edges. Flare is well controlled, some CA. The weakest part of the scope is the mechanicals: the clicks are not super positive.

I recently mounted a Trijicon 1x4x24 red arrow style reticle  on a RRA 6.8 AR. I tried several scopes prior including 4x Acog and a EOTech 1X ...Ive not looked at the SS 1x4 yet, but I cannot say enough good things about this Trijicon Accupoint. I would buy another for a AR and some specific bolt Rifles I have in mind as well......

Looks like the Vortex PST is an option now.

I know these are not on your list but -

I sold a mark 4 MRT 1-4 Illuminated SPR after buying an Elite 4200. Check out th elite 4200, I believe with a 24mm obj, 30mm tube, illuminated dot for around $350 they were half the Leupold price and I could not tell difference in the glass, maybe because the Leupold was 20mm inside a 30mm tube the 4200 allowed more light but I really like it.

Good luck
