Yesterday I did some more shooting with CS Custom 137 gr bullets. Rifle Rem700 action with custom barrel etc etc. Scope to good to mention here Wink

I loaded 47 gr S321 which is 2gr over the max rate. I also loaded 47,5gr. I zeroed at 100 m.
At the 200m mark I got 4 inch drop. I aimed at the top bull and bullet dropped into bottom target. Do not look at the slightly left impact. I aimed off for wind, which I should not have done. No great shakes here.

Next up I took them up to the 300m (327 yds). The wind was a bit tricky at about 10mph, but I did not allow for the wind. I dialed in 17 clicks or 12,25 inches. The 47 gr gave a pretty good grouping and bucket the wind very well. The grouping is under 1MOA

And now for the surprise, adding 0,5gr produced a shotgun effect !!

Summary:
The 137 gr cannot be pushed faster then my 155gr. Both bullets drop exactly 4 inches at 200m and 12,5 inches at 300m. The 300m performance on GS Custom looks pretty good.

The 155 cost me $0.40 and the GS Custom $1.00

At this stage I will stick to my 155gr.

I think the 24 inch barrel is the limiting factor here. Probably not all the powder is being burnt.

Are these the SP bullets Wouter? Are you able to run any of their heavier bullets, or don't have the twist rate for them? I would like to try some of their heavier SP line in my .300 wby to see how they perform.....I'm just not sure I trust sending my money to a company outside the country, for fear of getting no bullets.

Trigger,
I can run the heavier bullets with my 1 in 10 twist. But the objective was to go lighter then my normal 155gr as I was hoping to shoot flatter. But it seems I cannot push the bullets faster then 2850 or so. The case is 100% full with powder, so I cannot load up !!!

GS Custom is a reliable company run by a good guy. You can send your money and you will get your bullets.
