Well, not a professional review by any stretch..but I'd give a solid score to these binos. 8.4/10.

The best aspects:
Super lightweight, i like the ergonomics, and of course the IS.

The best aspects of these binos form a really good combo. If you want a little more magnification, but you're worried about how long you can hold them up, and you're worried about shakiness..these binos are perfect. When you hit the IS, the shakiness stops, and you really do see detail you couldn't pick up..plus it 's just more enjoyable viewing when you have no shaking. I also like how the binos feel in my hands.

The worst:
Just that there are no lens caps. Kind of shocking for a $750 (American) bino.

Final thoughts:
I'd buy these again. They are perfect for me. I like having a little more magnification, and my hands can be super shaky. I also hate using tripods. If you are like me, these will be perfect for you.

In terms of image quality, I think these are on par with let's say the best $400-500 pair binocular. So if you think you'll get much better image quality compared to binos in that range, save yourself some money. For me anyways though, the IS makes a huge difference because of the shaky hands.

We have two Canon IS binos -- the 2nd gen. 12x36, and the 10x42 L. They are indeed wonderful performers, the 10x42 amazingly so.

Sadly, it seems that the place you purchased yours from has shorted your purchase.  Although the 12x does not come with objective covers, they do come with ocular covers.  The fact that your example did not come with lens "caps" indicates to me that your retailer has dropped the ball, at the very least.
