I can't speak for cyborg, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better low light scope in that price range.

The illuminated reticle in the Trijicon makes the difference. Remember he asked about low light scenarios. Scopes aren't going to help at all if you have a hard time finding the reticle. Even a thicker post is going to take a bit more time to find than the reticle in the Trijicon.

Good point. THanks. Another thing, is there a difference/improvement between 2008 and 2009 Leupold VX3 series?

The Leupold is different between the III of years past and the 3 of present day. The glass is optically better. I expect that the same durability is there.

Shooter 4,
Ive never owned a Leupold scope of any sort but today I ordered the VX-3 4.5x14x40 Long Range which is a 30 mm. Sorry SWFA but I had to buy it directly from Leo as Im having the turrets built specifically for my AR using a 77 gr. HPBT Match. The elevation dial will be engraved with 223 and yardage. I will take pics and let you know how I like it ASAP. It will take about 3 weeks to get here. I can have the turrest made for any Caliber or specific load I want which I think is pretty nice.

SWFA also carries the new Custom Dial System Leupold VX3 scopes.  What happens when you buy one from any authorised retailer like SWFA is you get a cupon for a FREE custom engraved dial to match your caliber and bullet load exactly.   These are a nice choice in a hunting scope.

The Trijicon seems to be getting quite alot of talk here. I have been looking for a test but have not seen one yet. Do you know if the glass is on pair with like Conquest, or better??

I have not done a side by side of these two scopes. I will say that in my own opinion, the glass is a touch better than the 4200 Elite. Which says quite a bit. I really like the 4200/6500 Elites.

The 6500 is a nice scope, but if I were to spend money on a new high quality Varmint/target scope I would take the new design SIII 6-24x56.Just my opinion guys!!!
