What this information tells you is that the "average worker" has FAR exceeded the rate of inflation while the "average engineer" has not.  Sugar, eggs and coffee are well below the inflation rate.

Back then few farmers would turn away a hunter. They never said it was because that the hunter would shoot the livestock with a stray bullet. The bullets cost to much to waste.

In 1900, 50% of the population lived on farms.  By the 1960s, it was down to 10%.  In the 1990s, when we were raising our girls on the farm in Kansas, the number was down to 3%. We raised our girls in a vanishing way of life.
