A bit more detail about your prioities would help. For a good general purpose hunting/plinking scope it's hard to beat the Weaver RV7 2-7x28 or if you need a general purpose hunting/plinking/target scope the Weaver RV9 3-9x32 with AO is a very good choice. Either should fine for taking game out to 100yds, about the limit for 22lr. 9x is also plenty of magnification for 25yd target shooting and just barely enough magnification for target shooting at 50yds. 25yds is about the benchmark for target shooting with a stock 10/22 and 50yds for a modified - although some heavily modified 10/22 are competitive at 100yds.

The Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 with AO isn't a bad entry level varmint/target scope for a 22. Not Weaver quality optics but it's cheap 14x magnification. Enough to get you started in semi-serious target shooting. You're really getting into a lot more money to get a quality 4-16x or 6-24x scope. For a stocker the RV7 is a good choice and afordable.

The Nikon Prostaff line is not a bad value.  A 2-7 can be had for that price range.  I guess the biggest question is, how far are you looking to shoot?

I will also say the Mueller APV is a great scope for the 22lr.  I have one on my 10/22 and love it.  It's very clear, more clear than I expect for the $125 I spent.  Mueller has other fine scopes for the money that are extremely clear for the $$.  If you want more magnification, check out their tactical scopes with mil-dot recticles.  I picked up their 8.5-25X44 mil-dot for $160 and put it on my 17HMR Mako and man is that a nice setup.  Good luck.
